We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Annual Ohio Long-Term Care Symposium hosted by OMDA - The Ohio Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. This event will be held September 6-7 at the Columbus Marriott Northwest, Dublin, Ohio, and is Ohio's only medical continuing education conference focused on post-acute and long-term care. We are expecting approximately 70 attendees representing the entire interdisciplinary team with a focus on physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists. They will include medical directors, attending physicians, nurse practitioners, consulting pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants, dietitians, administrators and others from long term care facilities and community based practices across Ohio.

6th Annual Ohio Long Term Care Symposium

The 6th Annual Symposium on Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine was held August 25-26, 2023, at Marriott Columbus Northwest, in Dublin.
On Friday, we started with two 90 minute panel discussions. The first focused on the management of dementia related behaviors. The second focused on successful deprescribing of CNS active drugs. Saturday began with an interactive presentation on DEI. Then, we had two talks related to osteoporosis and hip fracture management. After lunch, we had an in-depth presentation on wound care, with emphasis on prevention and timely intervention. Then, a case-based discussion of CHF management, and finally our acclaimed Lessons from Learners’ Forum where trainees had the opportunity to present a case, QI project, or original research. All topics were chosen to provide actionable clinical pearls which can immediately be put into practice.
